Criminal
Investigation
+ Criminal Investigation Division
The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is comprised of a captain, 3 sergeants, 14 investigators, and 2 clerical staff members.
Duties
- The Crimes Against Property Unit is responsible for investigating of all crimes against property to include felony thefts, burglaries, forgeries, etc. The unit is supervised by one sergeant.
- The Crimes Against Persons Unit is responsible for the investigation of all crimes against persons such as rapes, sexual assaults, batteries, etc. Two members of this unit hold specialized positions, a Crime Scene Technician and a Forensic Computer Examiner. The Crime Scene Technician assists officers in the processing of major crime scenes for evidence. The Forensic Computer Examiner uses a variety of electronic tools to examine all manner of electronic devices for evidence of a crime. The unit is supervised by one sergeant.
- The Drug Unit is comprised of a team of investigators responsible for the investigation of illicit drug use and trafficking. The unit works cooperatively with other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

+ Honor Guard
The Rogers Police Honor Guard is a volunteer unit that represents the department at ceremonial events. There are currently 9 officers serving on the Honor Guard, including the Honor Guard Coordinator.
Training Procedures
The Honor Guard trains the first Wednesday of every month on procedures such as:- Commands
- Event presence
- Marching drills
- Posting / retrieving of the colors
- Rifle drills

+ Special Weapons & Tactics (SWAT)
Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) is the Rogers Police Department’s tactical unit. SWAT officers are trained for a variety of events including:

- Bus assaults
- Dynamic and covert entries
- Hostage rescue
- Officer down drills
- School shooter / active shooter
- Various table top exercises
- Various weapons drills and live fire
- Vehicle assaults exercises
The SWAT Team also participates in joint training exercises with the Crisis Negotiation Team.

+ Crisis Negotiation Team
The Rogers Police Department Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) is a seven member team with a Team Supervisor. The CNT’s mission is to resolve, through negotiation, selected incidents that have significant violent potential, such as suicidal subjects, barricaded subjects, and hostage situations.
The CNT selects potential members for the team by oral interviews, supervisor evaluations, past job performance, and the successful completion of a negotiation scenario.
CNT training consists of checking and operating the negotiation equipment and conducting negotiation scenarios to enhance and sharpen each member’s communication and active listening skills.

Uniform
Division
+ Uniform Division
- The Uniform Operations Division consists of 4 Platoons with 2 squads per Platoon.
- Each squad comprises 1 Sergeant, 1 Corporal, and several Officers.
- Two Lieutenants act as Shift Commanders.
- Uniform Operations Division (Patrol) works 12 hours shifts with the following days worked:
- “Long week” work Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- “Short week” work Wednesday and Thursday.
- One work day will be an 8-hour day for 80 hours per two-week period.
Shift hours are 6 am – 6 pm/7 am – 7 pm and 6 pm – 6 am/7 pm to 7 am.
