MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be accepted into the Rogers Police Department:

  • Must be a citizen of the United States
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Be of good character as determined by a thorough background investigation
  • Be fingerprinted, and state and national fingerprint files were searched to disclose any criminal record.
  • Be a high school graduate or have passed the General Education Development (GED) Test indicating high school graduation level.
  • Be free of a felony record – A felony record shall mean having entered a plea of guilty, or otherwise having been convicted of an offense, the punishment for which could have been imprisonment in a federal penitentiary of a state penitentiary. The fact that an individual has received a pardon on their record has been expunged shall not release the individual from having a felony record for the purposes of the regulation.

PAY INCENTIVES

In addition to the starting pay of $59,121.92/yr., applicants can earn extra pay incentives for education, experience, and language skills.

In addition to starting rate of pay:

  • $1,300 per year for Associate’s Degree
  • $2,600 per year for Bachelor’s Degree
  • $3,000 per year for Master’s Degree
  • $300 per year for every full year of prior law enforcement experience
  • Up to a 5% increase above the base to language skills deemed to impact our ability to communicate with the minority community positively.
  • Additional incentives for current CLEST certifications.
